Antonette has received recognition in outstanding leadership and innovation in enhancing academic teaching, resulting in enriched student-learning experiences through two national awards - a citation for ‘Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning’ in the 2017 Australian Awards for University Teaching and the Computing Research and Education (CORE) teaching award in 2018. She is also the recipient of the 2021 University of Melbourne Gem Scott Teaching Fellowship award and the 2017 University of Melbourne Edward Brown Teaching Award. Currently, she is a Senior Academic Advisor for the Academic Advising Student Life initiative at the University of Melbourne.

Lecturer and the Co-Director of Learning and Teaching, Department of Biochemistry & Pharmacology
Rosa previously held the role of Teaching Fellow in Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine within the Centre for Stem Cell Systems, also at The University of Melbourne. Rosa has co-ordinated and taught into a diverse range of subjects including undergraduate and graduate programs from capstone to breadth. She is the lead co-ordinator of Frontiers in Biomedicine, a Bachelor of Biomedicine capstone subject, which was the winner of the 2020 MDHS Award for Learning and Teaching Achievement. As a Teaching Specialist and passionate educator, Rosa’s educational practice is focussed on developing research and transferable skills through ‘purpose and product’, fostering scientific advocacy, and seeing the ‘big picture’.
