Getting Ready to Teach
About
This one off half-day workshop held before the start of Semester 1 is designed for those new to teaching. The interactive session will include ideas for getting-to-know-you activities, planning for the first class, strategies for setting a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, and characteristics of good small-group teaching in higher education.
Suitable for
This program is suitable for all University of Melbourne staff new to teaching. The topics will be especially suitable for those teaching in small-group settings, including tutors, demonstrators and graduate researchers.
