In pursuit of our mission to develop effective governance, leadership and management capacity in tertiary sector institutions, the LH Martin Institute offers dynamic professional development programs organisations in the tertiary education sector globally. These include bespoke programs and events designed to develop the capacity of institutions, and the careers and capabilities of staff in the sector. Using the best available national and international expertise we tailor programs and activities to the individual needs of specific institutions, providing short courses, leadership programs, simulations, postgraduate single subjects, online courses and consultancy services on planning strategic professional development for organisations.
Our programs can be delivered in-house, in-country, at the University of Melbourne campus or online. The LH Martin Institute has worked with more than 250 international organisations from Africa, Europe, the UK, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and North America.
Highly effective programs are built on understanding the participants, their roles, expertise and objectives for completing the program. We work closely with our clients, and in striving to maintain our role as a learning organisation, take on board knowledge and experience from them, enabling us to customise programs that articulate to professional development needs in different cultural contexts. We believe that these elements help us to construct learning experiences that are sensitive to specific institutional contexts and needs, resulting in better professional development outcomes.
