Understanding first-year students’ expectations and engagement on campus in the post-Covid university

This project examines first-year students’ perceptions of their roles as university students, their evolving expectations and intentions regarding campus participation, and their on-campus experiences post-pandemic.

About

This 2024 research explored the on-campus First-Year Experience (FYE) of undergraduate students in a post-pandemic university setting. It examined students’ perceptions of their roles as university students, their evolving expectations and intentions regarding campus participation, and their on-campus experiences. Additionally, it investigated the factors affecting their engagement. The goal of this research was to address the issue of declining student attendance and engagement on campus and to enhance our understanding of the post-COVID first-year experience for students from diverse backgrounds.
