Exploring the ‘pulse’ of Australian higher education internationalisation
About
This project will explore the current strategies for and attitudes towards Australian higher education internationalisation within the sector in order to better understand how internationalisation can be facilitated in a time of significantly restricted global mobility. Specifically, this project will expand understanding of the current ‘pulse’ of Australian higher education internationalisation, taking into consideration the perspectives of multiple stakeholder groups and contexts. By mapping the current 'pulse' of Australian higher education internationalisation, this project will have implications for both practice and policy and will support efforts to develop sustainable and comprehensive internationalisation practices within the changing context of higher education.
Aim
The guiding purpose of this study is to explore the current strategies for and attitudes towards Australian higher education internationalisation within the sector in order to better understand how internationalisation can be facilitated in a time of significantly inhibited global mobility.
Specifically, the project will aim to (1) map internationalisation strategies and priorities across all 40 Australian universities and (2) identify the sentiment within the sector towards the future of university internationalisation in Australia (i.e., the ‘pulse’).
