Mutual Recognition Agreements for Professional Qualifications and Licensure in APEC (2023-25)

About

This project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and led by the Australian APEC Study Centre.

This study explores the broad trends that have characterized the development of mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) for professional qualifications, licensure, and registration in APEC economies. An earlier phase of the project led to the development of the APEC Inventory of Mutual Recognition Agreements for Professional Qualifications and Licensure, a world-first database of such agreements. Current research is directed at identifying the opportunities for improving the mobility of professionals and professional qualifications across the region.
