Enhancing interaction between domestic and international students

Finding common ground

This research project investigated local and international student interaction within teaching and learning contexts. A key outcome from the project was the development of a six-dimension conceptual framework, the Interaction for Learning Framework. This framework underpins each of the resources produced through the project, which include:

  • The Finding Common Ground video (below), features the voices of academic staff and university students from a range of Australian universities.
  • The Guide for Academics includes practical suggestions for enhancing practice, and illustrated by specific examples as well as a background paper presenting the findings of the project and, a flyer for students, highlighting the benefits of involvement in culturally diverse peer groups.
