This program offers teaching academics and allied staff with an interest in and experience of teaching with technologies, the opportunity to network with others and develop evidence-based portfolios that document expertise and experiences with educational technologies. These evidenced-based portfolios could form part of a future submission for professional accreditation to become a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT Australasia).
What is CMALT?
CMALT Australasia is a certified membership scheme offered in partnership between the Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE) with the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) UK. The Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT) provides peer-reviewed recognition aligned with the UK higher education professional standards framework. Certified membership can enhance the impact on one’s professional record and enable the member to use ‘CMALT’ as post-nominal letters.

The Road to CMALT program will run in Semester 2, between October and November 2022. The program will be conducted online via 7 x 1 hour sessions. Content may include:
- Concepts and criteria
- Portfolio exemplars and example applications
- Perspective of teaching academics who have been through the certification process
- Overview of digital publishing formats.

Participants invited to join the CMALT Wordpress community and share ideas and social media via the #CMALTcMOOC hashtag. Setup of individual Wordpress or Edublogs eportfolios, ethics consent, and initial participant survey of prior experience. Shared collaborative participant map.
