JOHN ROBERTS, EXECUTIVE COACH AND MENTOR, INSTITUTE OF EXECUTIVE COACHING AND LEADERSHIP (IECL)
John has spent the last ten years facilitating projects and change skills development. In 2014, he was asked to develop a workshop for professional staff at a Sydney based university requesting a practical session aimed at people who have to run projects as part of their day job. He now runs this workshop regularly at other universities. Before becoming a facilitator, he spent 20 years in industry, 15 of which was running projects and change initiatives.
Engaged stakeholders: A practical approach to delivering successful change
We all need to deliver change. This workshop is not about the traditional project management tools we normally associate with change - scheduling, risk, budgets etc. It is about how to work with people to get your initiative off to the best start.
John has a passion for seeing people at every level of an organisation embrace the skills of project management to deliver on change initiatives and innovation. However many projects fail because people fail to recognise that projects are fundamentally about change. And change is fundamentally about people. If we want our projects to succeed, we need to start with our people.
In this practical workshop, we will look at:
- Identifying key stakeholders
- Identifying the problem we intend to solve and demonstrating what success will look like.
- Aligning stakeholders around this change
