The LH Martin Institute strives to maintain close collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and partner institutes, ensuring its continued relevance to the tertiary sector in Australia, New Zealand and internationally. These relationships allow for an articulation of needs from the sector in terms of the Institute’s programs and activities and ensure that the Institute does not engage in activities that are already effectively provided by others in the sector.
Australia and New Zealand
The Institute is based at the Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education (Melbourne CSHE), University of Melbourne. Shared activities with the Melbourne CSHE include co-hosting the University of Melbourne’s annual tertiary education policy seminar series, teaching in each other’s programs, and engaging in joint research programs and PhD supervision. Postgraduate programs run by LH Martin Institute are awarded by the University of Melbourne.
The Institute works closely with its stakeholders: universities, TAFE institutions, private providers of VET and higher education and Federal and state government education agencies.

The Institute has strong international links. In the UK, it collaborates closely with the Institute of Education University of London and the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. The Institute has agreed reciprocal arrangements with the UK Institute of Education's MBA program, so that credit gained at one institution in programs such as the Master of Tertiary Education Management can be accepted by the other, and support can be given to students from one institution undertaking project work in the country of the other.
The Institute also collaborates closely with the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), through the Graduate Certificate in Quality Assurance program, which is endorsed by INQAAHE for recognition internationally.
