Engaging students with co-creation: The case of the Create-a-Subject challenge at the School of Biomedical Sciences

This presentation reports on the Create-a-Subject Challenge as an initiative to connect undergraduates to the University community. Student teams competitively proposed new subjects for the School of Biomedical Sciences via a range of means: videos, posters or written text. The winning team received the opportunity to develop their subject idea together with staff to bring their subject to academic submission. The evaluation findings imply that the Create-a-Subject Challenge is not only a promising way to embed the student perspective in subject creation and design, but also provides an opportunity for undergraduates to connect with the academic community.

This Zoom presentation was part of the Melbourne CSHE Teaching and Learning Conference 2021 held on Wednesday 2 June 2021.
