Engaging Students Online
This session explored strategies for enhancing teacher presence and maintaining connections with students in the current online learning environment that are both effective and achievable for time-poor academics. Presenters were joined by other University staff who discussed successful strategies they had used to achieve this.
Karena Waller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and Deputy Program Director of the Bachelor of Biomedicine. Karena has joined the Melbourne CSHE on a secondment and focuses primarily on teaching and learning, student experience and engagement, and academic governance and program management.
Associate Professor Kate Tregloan is Assistant Dean (Teaching Quality) in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, and Director of the Built Environments Learning & Teaching (BEL+T) group. She focuses on creative education and its contributions to interdisciplinary impact, the built environment, and addressing community need.
