This Zoom webinar is part of the Spotlight on Engagement Series.

The University of Melbourne holds a unique place in our city’s cultural landscape, and hosts many plays, exhibitions and concerts each year. In this talk, drawing on best practice examples from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music’s busy annual event program and audience research and feedback, Eric Gardiner offers reflections for all engagement professionals on the critical role that creative events play in engaging audiences, alumni, partners and the community. No matter what your area, the power of dynamic and strategic events programming can enable better engagement across all disciplines.

Eric Gardiner is the Senior Engagement and Partnerships Coordinator at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, home to the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Eric previously worked as an independent theatre producer in Melbourne, working with organisations such as Melbourne International Arts Festival, Melbourne Theatre Company, Melbourne Fringe and the Emerging Writers Festival. As a playwright, his next work will premiere in 2021 at Red Stitch.
